Another poll to see where Fanatika stands on the issue, an informal poll to guage which direction we should head in when writing the playing the save part of the rules.

X turns / day (please post what X should be (1, 2, 3, other? Don't make this too high) means a leader will play a set number of turns in one day, every day.

Turnchats means a leader will play a set number of turns (please define in post) in a turnchat. See the website for more info about these.

My vote is for 2 turns a day - if our game lasts 350 turns (pretty late -- 1750 AD), we will end 6 months later. That isn't too bad, and it will probably be less.

I voted turnchat, but i am not totally against off line play. Because pratically speaking alot of people have computers that can only just handle civ4, the lag from Alt Tabing between game and chat could be bad

The name of our nation we have used in the past...

A piece of crap name we've used (with differant spellings) for about 4 Demogames. Hopefully we can actually be creative this game and find something better.

I rather Turnchats since we can do a lot more in a day than a few turns a day. With 3 day seperating each Turnchat or so with at least 10 turns or more. We do more than 3 turns per day method.

Play 10 turns every 4 days in a turnchat.

Uhh... 4 days * 3 turns a day = 12 turns
1 turnchat (every 4 days) = 10 turns

According to my calculations the 3 turns a day method would actually be quicker...

I say 2-3 turns a day, but not the weekday/weekend system.

Turnchat - I prefer a group of turns then a gap to give time for discussion in between. How many turns? difficult to say, as although I now have a copy of the game and it installed without error, it fails to recognise the DVD in the drive and won't start

I would say something around four or five turns per turnchat, though I have not taken part in any previous demogames so I may be off my rocker. Aw well, s'why I wanted in on this one, hopefully be as much of a learning experience for me as for others. <^_^>

One lonely vote for other... ;)

I think it would be kinda cool to try to evolve the play sessions, by repeating what works with Civ4 and discarding what doesn't work.

The whole problem with turnchats is of course the ever-present time zone difference, so I've voted for turns/day, which should probably be 2 or 3.
