Playing as Germany, is it the same as Civ IV when you just focus on getting to panzers and then take over the world? Or do you treat Germany like Rome and start taking over early?

Best strategy for Germany is what I'm looking for.

I doubt you will be able to keep from winning, before tanks. Especially with the free units from barbs.
