Please help with Gamespy's horrible service

Ok, within the game it asks for a "Gamespy ID" and Password. Of course, when I visit www.gamespyid.com there IS no ID - just my e-mail address, which isn't what the game wants. In my user info on gamespyid.com there's no field for "ID", just a Nickname, which also isn't what the game wants.

Can someone please tell me how to navigate this horrible service and log into multi-player?

To get to the MP lobby, just load the game, select Multiplayer then Internet, log in with your User Name and Password, and you're in. The website is only if you want to customize your profile/change your password, I think. It's pretty useless.

Nevermind. I just "created a new account" (I already had one) with the same info to get in. Why did they have to use Gamespy again....

Because outsourcing is cheaper then creating and maintaining their own system.

And I also had to create a new account for Civ.
