Please recall 1.52!

1.52 completely ruined the game.

I bought this game for multiplayer.

I bould Civ 3: PTW and Civ 3: Conquests for multiplayer.

Civ4 with 1.52 is nothing more than a shiny coaster that I cannot use.

With 1.00 and 1.09 I was able to play on-line with no problems, now with this 1.52 patch I cannot play on-line at all.

I had:
-NO CRASHES
-NO GLITCHES
-NO LAG
-NO MISSING CITIES
-NO DISAPPEARING UNITS
-NO CHESHIRE CAT PROBLEM

1.52 took a perfectly good game and destroyed it.

Firaxis needs to yank the 1.52 patch just like they did with 1.08!

I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with Windows XP Home Service Pack 2; 3.2ghz Pentium4 with HT; 1GB of RAM; 256MB nVidia GeForce 6800 and DSL.

I don't ever play any game on line, and with 1.52
I can finally play CIV 4 without crashes every 10 turns. With 1.09 I reduced my CTR (Crash to Reboot) and CTD's to Every 50 turns by turning off all sound and the movies, now with 1.52 I am actually able to play through a game without a single crash with all sound turned back on and the movies re-enabled.

It may be a coaster for on-line play now, I wouldn't know, But it is now playable for me.

Likewise I have just installed 1.52 and I am now having problems.

Played online previously with 1 and 1.09 no problems.
Now however when accessing Multiplayer, internet games asked to login via gamespy.
When attempt to do so whole machine freezes, no error message, alt tab, windows key sieze functioning, Ctrl Alt Del doesnt even work...

Have played single player and like some of new options patch enables so still worth downloading if you dont play online, but annoying looks like another patch released without proper testing.

Anyone else having similar problems or any ideas how to fix...

There appear to be issues with Multi-Player, there is a note on the home page of the Site, maybe Civ maybe not, no-one is 100% certain yet - the jury is still out on that one - but there is little doubt that there is considerable activity behind the scenes connected with it

How many players were in each game?

dozens, and at least 4 in each game. Over xfire. Not gayspy. And in single player I've had games that lasted 5+ hours with only one crash since I installed it. And that was trying to run it at 1600x1200 with everything cranked and AA and AF at max. I ran out of video memory.
