I was thinking about this yesterday, coincidentally. I never really got past the whole Kanto connection though. Too lazy to look up the names of the other regions and their possible connections to Japanese geography

I heard that the new region in Black/White is supposed to be New York, which explains the lack of returning Pokémon.

Was this supposed to be, like, a surprise? Thought this was assumed from the very start.... Cool picture in the OP though and Pokemon is awesome, and I guess not everyone (American/other foreign to Japan) would have figured that.
