Simple question, really. How many soldiers and how many divisions did Poland have in October of 1938, around the signing of the Munich Agreement? I haven't been able to find anything so far, only about how many they had at the time of the invasion ('39). Any other information about their military would be nice, thanks.

All I know is it's in 3D.

The Axis History forum that was linked to from the Paradox HoI3 forums on naval planning has a sub-forum dedicated to Poland between 1919 and 1940 here. I see at least one OOB related to the Polish airforce in early 1939, might have an army OOB that would be close enough for you.

How many soldiers

I have data for 1 January 1938 and 1 January 1939.

1 January 1938 - 17.015 officers, 47.049 NCOs and 167.294 enlisted men (= 231.358 soldiers total)
1 January 1939 - 17.731 officers, 49.470 NCOs and 189.177 enlisted men (= 256.378 soldiers total).

These numbers do not include KOP* (I have data for KOP on 10 May 1939 - 907 officers, 3.465 NCOs & 21.000 enlisted men = 25.372 soldiers total).

They also - most likely - do not include Obrona Narodowa - National Defence.

I also have a breakdown of these numbers for individual branches of Armed Forces:

1 January 1938:

Branch - officers/NCOs/enlisted(total)-percent

Infantry - 5387/17497/83749(106633)-46,1%
Cavalry - 1415/3762/27573(32750)-14,2%
Artillery - 2108/4996/24569(31673)-13,7%
Armour - 454/2356/6532(9342)-4,0%
Anti-Air & Anti-Gas - 177/433/1862(2472)-1,1%
Sappers & Fortification Service - 673/1526/4545(6744)-2,9%
Liaison - 378/1204/4458(6040)-2,6%
Air Force - 1073/2651/6229(9953)-4,3%
Fleet - 502/2094/3181(5777)-2,5%

The summ is not 100% (but 91,4%) - so not all branches were included.

1 January 1939:

Branch - officers/NCOs/enlisted(total)-percent

Infantry - 5578/17354/94563(117495)-45,9%
Cavalry - 1451/3927/28510(33888)-13,2%
Artillery - 2084/5053/30393(37530)-14,7%
Armour - 461/2444/7197(10102)-3,9%
Anti-Air & Anti-Gas - 259/604/2471(3334)-1,3%
Sappers & Fortification Service - 691/1614/5781(8086)-3,2%
Liaison - 409/1239/5177(6825)-2,7%
Air Force - 1149/3404/6829(11382)-4,4%
Fleet - 537/2331/3853(6721)-2,6%

The summ is not 100% (but 91,9%) - so not all branches were included.

*KOP = Border Defense Corps (in the East).

how many divisions

The number of divisions was the same as in 1939. That means - 30 active infantry divisions.

9 more reserve divisions were planned to be formed in case of war.

As for the rest - when I will have more time, I will check my sources.

But I think it will be hard to find data precisely for October 1938.

I surely have data for 15.03.1939 and for 1936. But I'm not sure if I have data for 1938.

Check the attachments:

BTW - "dyony pancerne" can be translated as "armored units" and also as "armored semi-battalions".

They consisted of one squadron (small company-sized unit) of armored cars and one squadron of reconnaissance tankettes.
