That happens often when the people you are playing against are using Brass Eagles or another crappy brand of paintballs ;)

@ civphilzilla: I gues my prices are higher because I live in an area with a smaller market.

Yea there is a bigger market out here, though you can still get some pretty good prices online or at a local Army-Navy Store.

I agree with CIVPhilzilla. I think the price is all a matter of perspective. I don't play golf, but a round can easily cost $50-$60 from what I've been told. Same with a lot of other hobbies.

Thats exactly how I looked at it - Golf. Everyone hears about paintball prices and says "Oh my god.. how can you spend that kind of money?"

People play golf and ski all the time and nobody ever asks them how THEY can spend that kind of money.. and those hobbies usually cost much more than paintball.

Anybody have any good "war stories"?

I got the paintball nickname "RMF" (for Rambo motherf***er) from a dude that was upset that I shot his kid.

I told the kid to surrender three times! He leveled his gun at me, so I pegged him. He didn't cry or anything, it was legal (refs saw it), but his dad freaked.

Apparently, the dad was a recent divorcee and this was his first weekend visit with the kid. He comes out on the field (w/o a mask, idiot), yelling at the ref that he was going to kick my ass. Funny thing is that I forgot my camo jacket and was wearing a sleaveless shirt with my tats showing, so I guess he thought I was trying to be a badass.

The field had to call the cops to get him out of there. My buddies had already been shot off the field and saw the whole thing from the inside (I was kept from going in the safe zone until he left). Dude was screaming at the manager about that Rambo mother****er that shot his kid...and the kid was embarrassed that his father was acting like a fool and had to quit playing paintball for the day!

HA! Hilarious.

I'd love to paintball, but no, unfortunately I've never had the pleasure. Probably something to do with it being illegal in my State, and having to drive 4 hours north across the border to get to the nearest center.

edit: Yay, post 400!!

What's paintballing?

Double Barrel, what kinds of restrictions are there between child and "adult" paintballers? I've never done, but if my son grows into a typical boy then I guess I'll just have to take him and perhaps a few of his friends I dislike...;)

I have played paintball on and off for the last 15 years (that ages me). I started playing "recreational" paintball and moved onto tournament paintball.

Paintball is great fun, ideal for people at almost any level of fitness.

@Sean. I dont know where you live, but in the UK paintball sites are usually unable to get insurance for any child under the age of 13 years old.

i love it but it is soo expensive. But man i loved it when i learned someone the value of cover "sniper " and you are dead f***er

Paintballing is a fun game, where you use paintball guns to shot ur enemy. The paintball guns shoot little balls of paint that break when they hit your enemy. When they are hit, they are out. Usally paintball has two teams of two playing various scenarios, like capture the flag, elimination, or VIP. It is a very fun game IMHO.

There is no restricitons, at least in Pennsylvania. In fact a parent has to sign for them for the kids to play at a paintball field. Also there is nothing stoping you from playing in a large area of woods with ur son and his friends.

Here in Texas the limit is 10 yrs. old for private parties and 12 yrs. old for general admission fields. But I've played on teams with kids as young as 12 along side seniors as "old" as 65! No generation gap when you're trying to keep from getting shot!

But, I have actually seen someone bring their 4 yr. old out! The kid didn't shoot (of course), but he was out there with a mask on with his dad...and he'd cry when his dad would get shot! But, he loved it. Funny stuff...if a bit hardcore.

general admission fields

OK, that answers my question very well. Some fields/slots are designated for certain age groups or levels of intensity/equipment, as with ice rinks or swimming pools.

Now I just have to wait 8 1/2 years for my son's obnoxious little pal to turn 12. I'll be looking forward to this.:mwaha:
