A whole bunch, but dunno what they are!

It's almost a given that an angle is good!

I've had my G3 Bottom Line Piranha with a 14 inch barrel and a venturi bolt for about 2-3 years now. Used to play all the time, but I don't play so much anymore (too expensive).

I usually just lurk but this a thread worth replying to. Paintball is the only leisure activity that takes up more of my time than Civ III

I shoot an Impulse Vision (Freak-Factory with I-Frame) which is a Marker not a "gun" by the way ;)

Paintball isn't that expensive once you start playing a lot. Get on a sponsored team and the costs fall drastically. I play or train every week

If you like Paintball I heartily suggest finding a Tournament Team and playing one of the Leagues. There are several both in the US and across Europe (I play in the UK)

Tippmann 98 (not custom)
Barrel: Dye Excel (As good, if not better than flatline, plus it's cheaper and easy to put "on/take off" the marker. But doesn't look as cool as flatline)
Airtank. Gives more pressure than Co2, and the refills are free most places.

I don't get to play because my friends are lazy and use money for drinking instead. Have only played it a couple of times.

You got ripped off. Don't get me wrong, angels are fine markers, but only playing 5 times! You could have just rented markers and saved hundreds.

Edit: Since you don't use that angel anymore... want to "donate" it to me:D ?

Tried it once. Loved it. Tried to organise a tough man competition for it. Topless paintball but no one was interested. Softies thought t would hurt to much.

Why not have an armwrestling tourament. It would give the same desired effect, or you could compare the length of your "manness".

1000 rounds for 40$. Holy **** thats expensive. and how long does one tank of Co2 last? What kind of marker does 200$ get you? semi automatic?

I play whenever I get the chance.

You can find inexpensive markers at www.actionvillage.com (among other sites).

Decent marker can run as cheap as $120.00.

Paintball is a great way to spend the day with friends, releasing some of that primitive aggression that we are all known to possess from time to time. :D

I've never shot paintball, my shooting hobby list is already full with target pistol. Nothing quite so fulfilling as putting ten out of ten rounds into a dinner plate sized bullseye with a .45 pistol at 50 yards one-handed.

if i ever have the cash to take up a "hobby", i'll definetly give paintball a try.

Yeah it gets a little expensive. CO2 is the least of your concerns, it is very cheap to refill tanks. And yes a good beginer gun (semi-auto) can range from 120-250 depending on what brand you get and where you buy it.

Yes it is a little more expensive. But I gave a rough estimate for average quality paintballs.

Okay, I've noticed a lot of people saying that it is very expensive.
If you look around you can get some pretty good deals:

Tippmann 98 Power Pack : As low as $180 includes 9oz tank, mask, and a tippmann 98 custom, which is a good gun to start with and can be upgraded to beastly proportions

Paintballs : An average case of good paintballs, not tournament grade runs around $40, but it has 2000 rounds.

CO2 : A 20 oz tank runs about $25 - $30 with fills costing about $5, and can last well over 1000 shots. I got 1250 out of one tank full.

Upgrades : If you want to go all out upgrading your gun I suggest buying stuff off ebay or a similar site, to get cheap parts from people who are turning away from paintball *evil*

Okay, so the average shot with a paintball gun costs about 2.5 cents. Figuring a case of 2000 costs $40 and a tank fill costs $5. So as long as you dont go too trigger happy its not extremely expensive, I admit it is very costly, but if you shop around you can get better prices.

I agree with CIVPhilzilla. I think the price is all a matter of perspective. I don't play golf, but a round can easily cost $50-$60 from what I've been told. Same with a lot of other hobbies.

Paintball, on the other hand, only costs me about $35-$40 for a day. I buy 2000 round ctn for $40 (good stuff, not the cheap crap), which I'll split with a buddy. $10 field fee that gives free air, and I've only spent $30 so far. Add a few sodas and a snack, maybe $40 for the day. Not bad, imo.

Definitely cheaper than therapy sessions! :D

Because thats boring. Me and my friends are rather immature and do some really random things- like leave a bottle of milk in the fridge for 3 years just because.

@ civphilzilla: I gues my prices are higher because I live in an area with a smaller market.
