Poser 5 download?

where can I download poser 5 for free? I really want to make my own civ3 units

There's a thread here from which a link to Bryce 5.5 was posted, an alternative to Poser.

well, Poser is much better and humans than Bryce. But, Bryce is better (and easier) to use for hard surface units. Depends on what he wants to make.

I find Bryce a bit hard to work with...I have not been able to figure out how to connect groups in order to animate them...but it is Great for making still PCX files

I want to use that tutorial, since I never made a unit before. oh well, does it really matter if I just try things out with bryce?

Depends on what kind of units do you want to make? If you want "little people" , use Poser. If you want tanks, airplanes, ships and such, use Bryce. Also, if you are not from Earth, you can use PovRay for all kinds of stuff.

Lets put it this way - Wyrmshadow, who`s made more than a 1000 units, has made only a handfull of human units. Its extremly hard.

You could try DAZ, but as far as I know/can remember at the moment, nothing good ever came out of it.. Except Hikaro`s stuff, and I`m just saying that because I`m not sure if he used Poser or DAZ for those units..

can I use the tutorial to learn with poser 7 too? are there alot of differences? or even poser 6? since I saw these can still be downloaded (for a fee, but oh well)
