My virus scanner says that it's a SPAMMY site.

Rarely do you get something for nothing.

Without even going into the Terms and Conditions I read this "receipt of your gift requires compliance with our eligibility requirements including; <snipped>... completion of one sponsor offer, and referring between 5 and 20 friends (5 for a Level 1 gift, 8 for a Level 5 gift, 10 for a Level 2 gift, 15 for a Level 4 gift, 20 for a Level 3 gift) who have to sign up and complete one sponsor offer". I bet that sponsor offer entails you shelling out more money than the original free gift for something you don't really want or need.

Now, does anyone think this is a good offer?

There was an offer last year that they were offering Bryce for free. I was too stupid and didn't get it. (I wasn't interested in unit making and building making at the time, since I wasn't even here yet)

EDIT: Oh wait, I thought this was BRYCE. Nevermind my post.

Considering that Poser costs about 10 times as much, I'd say it's not a bad deal. ;)

I'd safely say you can make civ 3 units with even the most rudimentary versions of poser.

If I recall correctly, Kinboat made his earlier units from Poser 4.

Nah, it's a spam site. Whenever it says "you've been chosen to receive a free gift" it usually is spam. What you have to do to receive your "free" gift is to sign up to various sponsors as well as enter your address. They then start spamming you like crazy. Believe me, I know cuz I've done it with other sites.

I have Poser 6 though.

The differences from 4 to 7 (don't know about the earlier ones) have virtually no bearing on unit-making. They do have a bearing on LH making, because the later versions have more advanced tools for creating hair, facial effects, and so on. I'd say that if you want to make LHs you're best off getting 6 or 7 (not sure what improvements are in 7 from 6), but if you want to make only units and are a bit strapped for cash, it may be worth looking for an earlier version cheap - just like what KA found...
