Possible Help with "Checking XML" Hang on Startup

This issue is related to one's sound driver/card. Please verify you have a compatible sound card that is updated with the latest drivers. The issue is not truly related to XML at all, that's simply the last message seen before this problem occurs.

I think my sound card is simply part of my video card (or motherboard?)

What should I do?
