I agree Hydro. But as there are hundreds of classes to cover...Idk if the traditional civ style would work, at least not without only minor slight variations of other icons.
Then again that might not be a bad idea either. Promotions are good the way they are I think. I can make icons in that style for those, if that is what you want.
Those wouldn't apply the same in the Combat Class realm. That color scheme would apply only to the skill promotions. In this way we free ourselves up to redefine color meanings depending on what the button is for and we won't be so limited by what's been defined previously.Indeed keeping them in that style just with diffrent backgrounds should do nicely. Note the color that have already been taken are ...
- Blue and Purple = Default
- Red = Field Commander
- Green = Heroic
- Brown = Animal
- Grey = Special
- Black = Nomad (Made but not applied yet)
Which means we could have still Orange, Teal, Pink, White, etc
The question is what color should go with what?
Also we may want to think about the foreground color. Rather than gold we may want to use silver or even another non-metallic color all together.
Also - The purple ones in our promotion scheme mean 'Compound Skill or Complex Strategy' right? Whereas the Blue is a Basic Skill or Strategy correct?
Interesting way to replace stars... I like it though not ALL promo icons hold true to the gold so we'd have to adapt those that don't such that the gold layer is more prominent so it could be adapted to this method. Examples of those may be found among the First Aid lines I think.Could have the icon itself be color coded for promotions, like bronze for basic, silver for second tier, gold for third tier and white/platinum for final tier. Just an idea.
Sometimes. For purple ones that generally true. However sometimes blue ones do that too.
True... but perhaps we should take a look at those blue ones and consider applying purple backgrounds then right?
