Let's take h4ppy's criticism of pot for being the root of many deaths because of the smuggling and mafia control, and expand it. Let's ban alchohol too because it (when illegal) is even worse than smuggled, gangster-run pot.

Before you take that drink, remember Al Capone!

Wouldn't that make you high almost every waking hour of the day?

I think i am already too high and need to calm down, it is call anxiety, i mean i still eat my nail at 39 and start as child. Maybe when my father died at 7 didnt help either.

Weed make me feel less anxious and give me the rare pleasure of today's life style.

I did my chemical degree while i was smoking cannabis, but i never smoke before an exam and never study on it, i had close 90 % about everywhere.

My boyfriend is the same way. When he is sober it's like he'd on speed or something. He is always busy, and anxious. He has a very hard time being able to relax. When he gets stoned it brings him to a level similar to when I am sober.

never have, never will. chemical happyness is evil, happyness shold be achived with internole peace within ones self.

Never in a million years would I be stupid enough to do drugs.

I am surprised this topic is allowed.

I tried it for the first time ridiculously late in life, at age 28, and liked it a lot. Smoked it inconsistantly, but pretty regularly for about three years, then got bored with it and gave it up shortly before joining the conversation here at CFC.

Very much in favor of legalization of it (even though I'm done with it.) I don't think it's very addictive and I think that it's criminalization is VASTLY more harmful to society than the stuff itself.

Ha! You've never taken a tylenol? Prozac? etc....

Many legal prescription drugs have worse side effects then marijuana. I have spoken with those who have taken Paxil and they say it does much more to alter your mind then pot.

Tried 'shrooms a few times too, with mixed results. Not something to try on a whim. Had absinthe when I was in Prague. Never tried anything else (except regular old booze.) That's the limit of my curiousity about recreational drugs.

Yes. I am very stupid. Much stupider than you, nuclear technican. Carl Sagan was also a dumb sh!t.

Your brain activity and all consciousness relies on chemicals. All happiness is chemical related.

Carl Sagan smoked pot?

And I can understand if someone says they aren't stupid enough to try crack, or heroin, but face it - pot is not addictive, and trying it won't ruin your life.

Sagan smoked regularly. As has been shown, marijuana intoxication hinders certain aspects of consciousness and strengthens others. Many ideas of his were inspired during marijuana-intoxication.

Although anyone who uses pot indiscriminantly without knowing their dealer may be arguably stupid, or just plain careless.

Go from smoking it several times a day to cold turkey periods that span months without any cravings or harmful withdrawal effect.

Like others have mentioned the drug can help pry open the mind. I'll savour a blunt before tackling a concept or theory my sober state was unable to grasp. Doesn't work all the time but I've met resounding success in many instances. The drug is detrimental to my studies, though, when demands are made on short-term memory.

I've got an arsenal of anecdotes that point towards the largely responsibly use of the drug and its meager drawbacks. The growing body of scientific research supports them.

Never have and I doubt I ever will. The long term effects just weigh too much for the moment of "joy" I may or may not feel.

What long term effects?

Never. I would never use drugs. I know some people that do, and theyare absolute idiots.
