Pot smokers?

I thought pot was addictive? Correct me if I'm wrong of course.

The only way I can imagine it is addictive is if you take a serious liking to getting high, but even then its only because you .want to because you enjoy it, not because there is a physical or mental need for it.

are u sure? u used to know this girl who sertenly seemed adited to it, so much so she choldnt go a day with out it, she got so bad, she started hearing things, and seeing things. she tryed to kill her step dady, then her mom, last i hear of her is she moved off to florida, was put into the mad hose, then let out, and is now at her aunts

Marijuana is not physically addictive but may lure those of less fortunate lifestyles into its grasp (as any promise of escape from such brutal reality would.)

As cgannon put it, you'd need a 'serious liking of getting high' to cultivate a psychological addiction to the drug.

I've never heard of anyone resorting to desperate measures to score another toke of weed. Anecdotal evidence here but I'd be very surprised if I heard a story of someone short-changing their mother or selling their body for a gram of Red Haze.

I'll assume the "drugs are for absolute idiots" crowd is also strictly opposed to the consumption of alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medication and pain killers.

In Huxley's "Brave New World", the wonder drug soma is never said to be addictive, but few in the story go a day without gulping down a quarter-gramme. Why?

1. They're habituated to it.
2. They don't like facing reality without the drug.
3. It's socially acceptable to be stoned on soma.

These are MENTAL addictions and they apply to all drugs. And the prepared mind can easily combat and defeat them.

So? We all "knew this girl". Anecdotal "evidence" doesen't account for much. I know 5 stories of people who have smoked marijuana with no negative outcome directly related to its use, for every one you know.
I know a guy who used to use cocaine in order to stay up late and give himself and extra push of confidence. Regardless if it was in spite of his use or perhaps because of it, it turned into a legitimate business that put half a million dollars in his bank account in about five years. That doesn't tell anyone sh!t about typical cocaine use. Does it? Statistics and lab research. The scientific method is what matters.

Unless you use a vaporizer. The vapor is significantly less harmful than the same volume in tobacco smoke.

I'm u would call a typical stoner: middle-class, uni educated, scruffy and in to psychedelic/alternative rock.

I used to be a anti-drugs person, thinking that pot is the greatest evil in the world, i used to believe the 'just say no' marlarkey. But since trying mj i cannot think how mis-educated i was about the facts.

I think anyone who has the right to independently talk about mj is the users and former users of the drug. Non-stoners, don't realise that this isn't alcohol we're talking about, its so much more than that. I think in my own experience it has made me creative, i love drawing whilst stoned, i love to get in deep comphesations about the class system or anarchism; thinking about stuff that would never come to me sober.

I gave up gear for more than forty days, i found it difficult so i started again. I noticed certain things that i didn't like about myself whilst sober: (1)Mindless bored, (2)Aggressiveness, (3)Drank a lot more (over 20 units, i did drink over 30 shots of vodka/whiskey/tequila in one night(!)) (4) i felt like that my mind narrowed, i couldn't really understand abstract thought. Last but not least (5)not being stoned

BUT, i admit this, my spelling and maths has got pretty bad, my concentrations is bad . I do find it hard to do work sometimes. - but that might just be my dyslexia/dyspraxia

Tried it a few times, it's OK, if I feel up to it I might try it again, but it's not like an addiction or anything. Haven't done it in many months

Also, Vietcong, marajuana can be used for medical purposes, so it could be considered a medical drug in some instances.

Uh no. I wouldn't try that. From what I know, vaoprizers are about $70 for a reliable one. You would need to probably go to a head shop or get it out of an ad featured in a cannabis enthusiast magazine (there are a copious amount). I don't know how you would go about making one, but $70 is a great deal figuring that you will save that much on weed alone in the first few weeks or months, depending on what kind of a stoner you are. This is because the vaporizer heats the cannabis to just the right temperature to extract psychotropics, but does not burn the fiber as direct contact with a flame would, and in turn burn off useful product wastefully. I imagine that it would do much less to irratate your asthma than proper smoking, as well.

P.S. Buying any drug paraphanalia over the internet is a bad idea. For some reason people have been getting busted, though I know no details. Better to be safe.
