I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this out and maybe found a better way of doing it:

Chaos Conjurers: Summon the little Marauders, hope for the 1% chance of going barbarian.

In same stack: Water Conjurer. Sacrafice it hitting the Marauder (almost guaranteed to lose, but do more than 50% damage)

Now attack with a mage to get your experience quicker.

Typically I do this while sitting in a town, but if I have the Summoning trait I either more away from towns, or I delete the Marauder at the end of the turn so it doesn't bug and auto-capture my city.

Haven't tried playing with enrage and permanent summons, like skeletons. But it seems if I could find a reliable way to kill them with my casters it might work better. And this works perfectly fine with any unit. I just prefer getting exp on casters :)

Oh! Oh! I've got one!

Declare war and kill enemy units for massive experience!

Barbarians are my way of gaining XP, I'll often leave a Barb city alive just to kill its defenders over time.

Playing a Balseraph-style cat-and-mouse with weaker civs, kill all but one unit/city, let them grow back, kill them again...
If you raze their cities, let them be rebuilt and raze again, get AC up if you want it

add a GC on that unit :)

that's fun : +4 xp minimum per fight, even (a captured) Acheron vs a merryman :D

then, attacking even chaos marauder with your maga-mage becomes worthwhile...

Can subdue animal capture Acheron now? Cause I know Magnadine isn't in 0.25 and I'm not sure if his ability ever worked on Acheron. (loyalty?)

As for 'Powerleveling', well, there getting an early powerful hn unit and being overly cautious about where you send them, let them attack weak units without reinforcments until they dominate.

Or reloading every time a semi-prized unit dies.

No, Acheron is a beast type unit, not an animal. (Magnadine could easily capture Acheron before, and the command promotion still give a 50-50 shot)
