How do I make the background of a powerpoint an image?

Oh gosh. I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember that I looked it up online. Just google "powerpoint guide" or "how do I make a background in powerpoint?" or something similar, and a walk-through guide ought to pop up as one of the first few hits.

Format menu | Background...
Click on the dropdown list, choose Fill Effects...
Click Picture Tab, and then Select Picture button.

Edit: That would be PowerPoint version 2002. Should be similar in later versions, except 2007. I hate the ribbon.
