Never played before via forums. Is there any particular difference between them in terms of political situation? Are they SSR? Or are they still independent in this timeline?

They're basically the same. Liberal democracies, good trade with their neighbors, dependent on Germany for protection from the big bad red.

Why didn't you pick Australia, Canada or Japan? Those I think are better starting nations than Estonia.
