On-Topic: I rather like Rodgers avatar. It somehow seems fitting....
Oh, well I don't dislike it.. I just did not have the common experience to know what is was (e.g., from the movie, and the gender). The actual avatar itself is indeed quite good.

No, they're threadjacking. It's a big difference.
No, its not threadjacking. It is just talking about an issue arising from a custom Avatar. The avatar gave me a distinctly different impression than people who knew the character and the movie, and people explained it, and have returned then next avatar subject that comes up :).

how do i get rid of the stupid white background?
The way I do it is to size it, clear it up, make the final adjustments, and use bright green as the background color. Then I set the bright green to transparant, and bingo! But you need to carefully look at size and quality issues, too... the Avatar must fit the 65x65 & 4K, which most will just do under the wire.

I use a screensaver program, HypersnapDX, to do most of the work. I use ACDSee for most of the mathematical transforms, especially to get the clearest starting point after a reduction in size.

I always edit the final result pixel by pixel, at about 8x magnification, to make it look good. That is how I did Becka's, Floppa's, and Gunning's, for instance.

Ok, i am terribly sorry about all the posts i have made on this thread today, this will be my last attempt on making the knight right...

I think it is Leslie Phillips from the Carry On films but im not sure....

robehans, here is an heavily modified and enhanced version. I had to setp up to another piece of software to fix it, because the original was very small and of very poor quality, and do some editing. But the result is a full sized Avatar, with full transparancy. I used some very advanced transforms to recreate the details:

There arises a question, why would anyone want a black&white coloured avatar,
when all colours are available (sp, again :().

Speaking of Rodgers's's'ss''s av, it reminds me of George Costanza's father from Seinfeld. Only 30 years ago! :D Anyone think I'm spamming with this post can bite my electronic nads. :D

my black knight is not originally black and white!!!
Starlifter used some program to "enhance" the pic, originally , if you really wanted to... ...and before i resized the pic to 65 x 65 pixels... ...you could see light spots of blue, and the eyes of the knight in red... :) i also changed the sides of the ornaments on the horse from gold to silver... ...all i need is someone telling me how to make the background invisible with Adobe Photoshop...
