Those two earlier on the page, particularly the second, are good. But the second was 700 bytes too big.

Those are gif files. If you resave as jpg files, they'll be smaller. T'was what I did with my avatar when I found it's too big. Here's the second one : -

Here's the second one again in jpeg, but this one seems to retain more of the reflection on the face then Knight-Dragon's, and it is small enough.

OK, so who is Elija Wood? And is the individual male or female?

I'm sure there is a story behind it, since most people posting here seem to know who it is. Why does an ambigious character fit darkshade so well? As the "Chief defender of the Battleship", a "girly guy" or a "guyly girl" does not seem to fit my own idea of Simon. But... it's probably because I'm missing something.

PS, What is that mascara (or maybe reflection that someone alluded to) on his/her cheeks?

Ah Starlifter you tread some dangerous ground my friend... I am curious also but I might have an inkling of an idea but am not too concerned if I am correct. As long as I retain my titular "Deputy Under Secretary of the Spoons", I am content. Maybe a pay raise would be nice but ya know...

I'm afraid I don't know all the references, but if people think it's a fitting avatar, it's fine with me.

I just don't know the association, and never heard of Elijah Wood, but my guess is Male, buy inferring from post context. But I was pretty sure, from the photos on the prior page, that the person is Female. But maybe it's just a girly guy (no insult at the dude/dudette in the photo... its just hard to tell).
