Hey guys, I have a question for you. How much have you played on premade worlds. About a year ago I had a very good group of players from all over the world who seemed to enjoy a new way of playing the game, though some didn't. I buil maps for civ quite often, that in itself is not new but the way I build them is a little different. What I do is I creat Islands, fairly good sized to very small, depends on the game. The larger Islands can hold about 20 or so cities. Ever civ is set up so they can't reach each other until someone gets the lighthouse or better. It allows you to build your civ up pretty good before you are visited. It is mainly a race for techs at the beggining, but if you like naval battles these games are full of them. It is very difficult to conquer another civ when they've had time to build up, and you have to do it amphibiously, a real challenge. I have also played with teams on larger Islands and made some extra Islands with lots of resources and what not, kind of like a goodie Island. It made for some interesting games, but they were long ones.
