I have to disagree with you. Peasants did participate in the formation of FARC, even if they were already radical Liberal and Communist peasants re-organized by the party hierarchy, after the attack on Marquetalia. One can't exactly write that part out of history, though most peasants certainly didn't follow their footsteps, even way back when Colombia was a mostly rural country (most of the population lives in urban areas now, more than 70% in fact).
