A previev of a battleship im starting to create the IJN Kirishima (a Kongo class battleship)
The green is Civ colour and I don't think i'll change the colours

As far as I can see the hull is narrover the super-structure higher and the main turrets is smaler
but that's just how it generally appear I haven't rendered in FLICster size
 
I think it looks really nice. :) It's very Civ3 styled. And yeah, if it's to be a battleship, perhaps it should be as big as the default battleship.

Again, I can't wait for this one. Good to see someone doing IJN ships, and doing them well. Akula, I know this is a stretch, but at some point in the future would you ever maybe possibly consider doing a Yamato and an Iowa in your style? I made the Yamato, but it sucks compared to your ships, and while the Iowa Vingrjoe started looks better, it's still not on par with your ships. A King George V would be sweet too. But I don't mean to infringe upon your projects, I eagerly await all your ships. But those would go along very nicely with these!

Also, the deck color on the Kongo looks very good, I like it a lot. Also eagerly awaiting your carriers, especially the Shokaku Class.
 
I'm glad you all like it I had some problems whit the super structure (remade it five time) so it might not be perfect
TVA22 it will have to wait a bit I have allready started on making a Nagato I allso think I convinsed Dragon King that he should make a King George V battleship and my favourite WW II navy is the IJN

can you make the guns a bit bigger? i know it might not be to scale but oversizing the guns makes the ship a bit more menacing...and to my opinion looks better in the game when you can tell the BB comes with big guns
 
Glad to hear it akula, the IJN is my fav, ww2 navy too. I think you captured the correct look of the superstructure. That's what I love about Japanese warships, they looked so distinctive compared to western ones, in part because the superstructure sat so arrogantly high on the hull! Looks just like a Kongo to me.

And I was't trying to rush you, so don't feel like I am, I was just wondering if you might ever be interested in making more, (the yamato is my fav ship of all time, which is why I'm so interested in it), so I'll just be quiet now!:D

I think I would tend to agree with this. However, everyone should remember that the Kongo was one of the results of the Post-WWI naval treaty (i.e. an undersized battleship based on WWI technology). It probably should not look as menacing as the Civ3 battleship based on the US Iowa class. ;)
 
Yes, im doing a King George V....still 1 more exam to go yet so be patient (this ones the hard one T_T.) I still havent got a 3d program to do it yet...but hopefully ill get that soon. All im doing at the mo is revision. Oh the unit is great! I cant wait to see it sail. Wow, more ships than i know what to do with...keep them coming :goodjob:
 
I also think this looks very good :) I like the colors - the lighter brown is much better IMO as the dark color in previous ships:goodjob:
