Preview! New Mod: -~-Warrior Pharaoh-~-

WOAH!!!!
this is fantastic!
look at all these lovely buildings!

wow!

okay, now we're really getting somewhere! :D
yikes, this is a lot to digest!

i think one of the big things now will be to re-do my tech tree to allow for
the building of all of these!

i can so some buildings, for instance i had an idea for a "Statue of Set" that is
just an improvement to boost culture. and there's a few other statues i am
making. there are also fantastic buildings from Plont's Desert Mountian mod.
(i'm thinking mainly of the 'Vaulted Tomb', but there are others too.)

i'm in the editor now trying to get things set up.

i'm gonna post my tech tree ideas here in a jpg, so we can make some changes.

thanks so much everyone, this is really turning into a group effort!
(and i'm loving it! :D)

The buildings are now available over in the graphics forum. A couple have been changed, due to me noticing that they were Supa's!! I've provided a link to his Egyptian buildings in the thread.

Now..you DID remember to include a Senet House in those buildings right? ;)

okay.....

so, now the civs are:

Looks like good progress!! A couple of questions: what are you using for the Kush leaderhead? What effects do the various buildings have?

Hi utro43,

this is getting a very interesting scenario. As you did reflect in an other thread about using a pyramids-resource-icon, which in my eyes gives a lot of flavor to the map of that scenario, here is the pyramids-resource-icon from my mod. It looks very good with the "Ares" terrain.

Here you can see in picture one, how it looks in gameplay: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4863067&postcount=15

May be you have a use for it. :)

@ R8XFT: i'm going to switch things around, and use the current Nubian LH
as Kush, and this guy for Nubia:
untitled1cp0.jpg

unless u have some other ideas....i'm open :)

now....one problem has risen out of my adding Kush.
essentially the Kushites were nubians, but due to decades of egyptian influence,
embraced egyptian culture, and were more peacable then the rest of Nubia.

as a result, it has caused me to have to do a little thinking on the subject as far as units go.
see, the Hyksos and Kush both embraced certian things from
the Egyptians,
as did the Egyptians from them.

for example....the egyptians got their charriots from the hyksos, and their archers
often from nubia (Medjai mercenaries are in this :D), and the nubians borrowed
allot from egyptian religion and culture, as did the hyksos.

thus i aim to have a handfull of units shared between Hyksos, Egypt, and Kush.
but, because of the Kushites being Nubian, they will have certian units shared
with Nubia as well. it's a little complicated, and i REALLY wish that i could have
one unit upgrade into multiple ones, but i just have to do it the other way around. ;)

more ideas on this welcome!

i'm gonna edit my post with what those buildings do in a minute.

@ Civinator: i love your pyramids, much nicer with what i already have,
i've already replaced them in the mod, thanks! :D

@ varwnos: i was actually thinking of changing to Snoopy's terrain lol,
but i do kinda like the dark moody feel of this one.

one question i'd like to throw out there is on the subject of goverments.
i really want to set the attitude of the different nations by the way they
view other goverments, thus there will be several custom goverments for each civ.

however, this only covers a 15 year period, and i'm at a loss for names.
like, this is what i got thus far:

Despotism
Monocracy
Egyptian/Hyksos/Kushite/Nubian Monarchy
Egyptian/Hyksos/Kushite/Nubian Dynasty
Empire

i also thought maybe having something like "Tribal Monocracy" for Nubia, but i dunno.

ideas appreciated. :)

Is there any news on this mod? It looked really promising - I hope it's still being worked on.

How about renaming Atenism to Sun Worship or Monotheism or something like that? Atenism just sounds strange, and remind me more of Athens than of Aten...

Personally, I'd prefer "Atenism". Why use a horribly bland and unspecific name like "Monotheism" or "Sun Worship" when a specific one is available?

hey all,
so so sorry for my lack of activity, i've been out of province, and away from my pc. i AM working very hard on it. i have made great progress, and actually would like to know who might be up for some beta testing shortly. :)

it's great to hear that people care about this mod, and i promise to deliver! ;)

i'm flying back to ontario from BC, taking the "red eye" flight, will be home 2morrow, and will get back to work.

cheers!

Ahhh....
Nice to see I have been missed :)

Okay! I'm gonna get some of those new buildings I've been working on up here 2night! :D

Good luck! I can't wait for the BETA. Just out of curiosity, approx. how many turns long are thinking of making it. If you want my two cents worth there are plenty of epic mods out there that last 300+ turns so it'd be nice to see a shorter one (even though I love the others).
