Problem: Slow Computer. It wasn't slow before.

Moonsinger's points are good ones, although between three and four I would personally suggest wiping your hard drive clean, a full reformatting and reinstalling windows.

Well, if you are going to do that, don't forget to back up all your data and save games first, etc. The whole process of reformat and reinstalling Windows could easily take half a day. I only do that as the last option because sometimes we don't really know for sure what kind of data we may miss, especially all those URL bookmarks/links also need to be exported/saved first.

OT: After I install a fresh copy of Windows and all the basic and all essential applications, I would back up my hard drive with drive image. Down the road, instead of reformat and reinstall, I would simply restore the drive. Of course, most people don't have this kind of technology, but it may be something you guys may want to consider in the future after you are going to rebuild your system.

Images are nice. . . do it once, and cut down on how long it takes to do it in the future. Ideal if you're doing this for a lot of systems, or are religious about restoring your system to a certain 'clean' point. Or, as in the case of my ju-co, both.
