Well, i uninstalled the old program which i had from the cd when i bought the old printer (it is an hp deskjet d2560) a few days ago due to trying to overcome some problem i thought there was with a non-compatible ink cartridge i had bought.
In the end it turned out the ink cartridge itself was the problem, but not due to compatibility issues. It was faulty, so i got it replaced. Trouble was that by then i had pretty much removed the old cd install and replaced it with some hp driver from their site (hp).

The machine did print a few pages, but suddently stopped. And since then the printer does not print anything, despite having ink. I failed to install any driver which would solve the issue :(

Can anyone help? Any ideas as to how i can fix this? I tried to find the cd but it was 3 years old and could not trace it yet (maybe it is even gone...).

What OS do you have? Have tried unplugging everything, and then rebooting both the printer and the PC. Then reconnect the cable to the printer or computer which ever is easiest to get to?

LMAO@ "It'll suck really hard at 3 things."

My dad insists on buying those ridiculous monsters and they really do suck.

Good thing my family can fall back on my HP LaserJet 5. Sure it may take a while to start printing, only do one thing, be B&W, be bigger than a breadbox and be a refugee from the mid 90s. You know what, though? It has an expander that lets it hook up through ethernet and it works, goddamnit! That's more than I can say for whatever breaks-after-two-days Epson abomination Sam's Club is pawning off on chumps this week.

EDIT: Also, this bit is genius.
