Problems running PTW 1.04 patch

I have Civ II installed with 1.29 patch. Runs fine, installed PTW and it ran fine. After playing for about 20 minutes I would get a memory error stating "can't reference memory 000432 or something like that. Well this got old fast so I decided to try the 1.04 patch for PTW.

Installed the patch successfully with no error messages. When I now go to play PTW I get a missing .dll error. It will not run after the patch!

I am at a loss here, never had a problem with CIv III as far as technical issues. But PTW seems to be a steaming pile as far as stability.

Any thoughts on what to do to repair the installation?

I tried deleting both Civ III and PTW and reinstalling in the following order: Ci III install, 1.29 patch, PTW, PTW patch.

Guess what? Same error! During installation it mentions something about read only files and removing them or leaving them alone.

Confused and bitter . . .

The exact error is this:

dynamic link library ifc23.dll could not be found in path c:\program files\CivIII\Civ3PTW

Then mentions c:\winNT\system32

HELP!

Moderator Action: Solution by gonzo: GO TO THE STORE AND ACTUALLY BUY THE GAME. Yes, you just admitted piracy you two. That problem is only w/those who have the pirated version of the game. You will not receive help here.

As buying the game is not an option for everyone yet. (Not released outside U.S yet i think) Here is what you do.
Preorder the game at a gamestore in your country and then sit back and cry silently while you play the buggy pirated version whitout a patch.
