Problems with loading old saves after new update

FWIW

Launched game as DX 10/11, I was able to get into the game and went to load screen and it launches and brings up the leader screen and that is it. Goes to Not Responding. Restarted and it did the same thing.

Started a new game and was able to launch with no issue.

Went down to DX9 and could not even get to opening screen.

My new game loaded with no issues and the old saved game did not.

I had to delete 6K characters in order to post.

...well...blame the patch and proceed.
It seems the patch wrecked some saves, but that's what i normally would expect (even when the devs say that they don't).
Then we can't do anything, the old ones are lost :/.
