Hi there, techno-dunce in a quandry here :) .

I'm trying to send some large music files to someone for a CFC project and I'm not having any joy, quite the reverse in fact.

In total I have 100MB worth to send. On Friday I tried to send them by Outlook and the whole thing froze up, refused to send it and blocked everything else up. This is what it said when I returned to the office PC Monday morning: "552 Error: message too large"

So I was put onto Yousendit.com. Twice now I have tried to upload through Yousendit and failed. First time was a 100MB winrar, second was a scaled down 38MB winrar. Both times it has uploaded for some 20-30mins and then reported back that "The document contains no data".

Why is this? How can I overcome these problems and get this music sent?

Please be gentle and speak in plain, non-techy English. Thanks :)

If you're sending it in rar format, then if I remember correctly, WinRAR allows you to split an archive into multiple files. You could split the archive into chunks about 10MB in size, and it should work more easily... most email servers set an upper limit on attachment size of about 10MB: that's why you're getting the "message too large" errors.

I found another way round it which was lengthier. But I'll look to this advice in future. Thanks folks. :)
