http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Militar...g_World_War_II it has all kinda production levels there to make the next beta more historically accurate and balanced.

Making production "historically accurate and balanced" would not work for gameplay.

It would destroy the mod.

Having the allies leading production by a ratio of 2 to 1 would give the axis no chance in hell.

One of the whole points of the scenario is its 'what if' factor, of being able to win as the axis, of intervening earlier as the allies, of turning all Europe Soviet.

I disagree. If something happened in real life it can definitely be portrayed in a game. If the German Army is strong enough it should be able to kill 2;1 and Soviet costs of army decreased and their strength decreased it would also portray the sheer quantity of army that the Soldiers had. Quality was not their strong point ;)

The Germans didn't lost a lot of army in the initial invasions; poland, norway, low countries, france, balkan. Its only when they got to Soviets they started to lose a lot. And of coarse after the landings of Normandy since there were 2 000 000 Allies soldiers and only about 400 000 Axis on western front.

Anyway it was an idea I hope its implemented.

The production techs/civics model this to some extent.

In early dev I tested with more historical allies production, and the axis could not stop them.

heh, essentially, for the axis, if you do not win by 1942, you lose the game according to current timetables for the game. If you gave the allies THAT huge of a production bonus, unless germany owns GB, France and NA by 1941, there is no possible chance for them to win.

I think that the Fascist Industry should be triggered by an event in 1942, the promotion of Albert Speer to Minister of Armaments, rather then be the starting civic. Until Speer took over they were still producing luxury goods and maintaining an economy that was the same as it was before the wars. Only after he took over did they greatly increase production.

Still, the US produced in 1944 more planes and tanks in that one year then Germany had since 1939. In many ways it was the production capability of the US and then Russia that eventually overwhelmed the Germans.

To counter this advantage I would give the German units promotions to start, this would represent their superior training and combat training. American troops were originally trained with sticks (not rifles) and only for a few weeks before being sent into combat in North Africa. Also, the Germans used superior tactics in the beginning of the War. They concentrated their tanks as a standalone unit, where the French and British spread them out as infantry support. The French actually had more tanks then the Germans when the war started, but they were unable to use them properly.

Considering the episodic nature of the war, at least in the early phases, Axis victory might be possible even with those production numbers - with careful (ie: historically inaccurate) usage of diplomatic and military strategy.
