Come to think of it, it might be the music... i'll have to check that.

if it is, i'm going to feel so stupid... i've checked everything besides that.
 
I've been Going throughthe Music Files, made a hell of a lot of corrections but still deosn't work... Well, back to work...
 
At the dawn of man it is also trying to generate the players initial units (settler/worker/etc) as well as graphically displaying the map. If there is any errors in those units or terrain/features/bonus graphics it will bomb out as you described.

Well, these are some things we didn't change, so I imagine it's about the units graphics, loading screens or sounds. Now I'm doing the tech tree, while I try to discover what's wrong.

it deosn't even get to the Dawn of man...
 
I quickly looked at the DiplomacyInfo.xml file.... and it's really messed up. I had many crashes in the "Initialization" phase of the loading screen with early TAM versions, at the same point where I get CTDs with your mod. It could be something else, but surely this file will create bugs, so might as well correct it now;).

If I got time tonight, I'll try to fix it...
 
Keep going, guys ! I'd love to play such a mod, I'm literally waiting since the initial release of Civ IV for such a one...

i really like the idea for this mod :D and i hope it will be finished soon :D (not to soon cus than the mod will suck :P)
 
You don't really want to download it know... it's unplayable. i cant get rid of this one Damn Bug! (i'm pretty sure it's the only thing stopping the game...)
 
do you guys wanna add heroes to?
and perhaps u can use the ffh 2 mod for some idea's to add in this mod
 
okay but i read somewere dont now if it was here or somewere ells that if you want you always can use stuff from the ffh2 mod so perhaps some stuff could be put over from the mod derectly or mabey a little twisted to this mod.
 
Well, I really hope we use heroes, but I agree that the FFH2 system would be to focused on heroes, as the mod itself is focused in high specialization and few, but strong, units. We could use a similar promotion system to make the heroes unique, giving them special habilities (even "magic"), and make them world units, but we should have heroes more alike standart units (even weaker, as they are a single person, but useful because of their skills).
By the way, how many heroes should we have? We have 18 civs, but I don't want to make heroes exclusive for one single civ but rather to its race, and also some heroes available for all factions (except perhaps The Shadow).
 
Waiting is hard on that one... I'm looking forward to the release of this Mod so much ! :) :yup:

Edit: I have some solid knowledge of Middle-Earth and the Elder Days having read LotR and even the first sketches of the Silmarillion. I can do some programming too if it's not too hard ;) . If I can help with anything, just ask...
 
The most ou can do right now is look around on places other than this forum for Unit arts and building arts, unless you know Python... or can use the SDK... or do you know XML well? about the art, i've scoured this forum as deeply as it will go, so i don't think theres anything new here... thanks alot.
