Proposed new World Wonder

As a fellow New Yawka, I second Mad Scientist: AWESOME game and it's great to stick to the Mass wholes.

As a Charger fan, I too found that game incredible. I have never been so excited for another team as I was for the Giants. ;)

Be the first Civilization to build 30 colesiums in 30 cities. You automatically unlock the "superbowl" providing you have the tech of Mass Media.

Once you build the Superbowl you automatically win the game regardless of how stronge or powerful your opponents are!!!

Superbowl??? That is to American... You have a better result with World Cup that Superbowl.
I agree on one thing, if you want it, add in a Small Wonder or better yet an American Unique Wonder.

Is the Superbowl like some kind of American Soccer Cup? every country has one, wonder what america has.

Soccer does influence world politics somewhat so yah it's a nice idea.

no soccer is that sport you guys kick around for 90 minutes to get into the net about once a game.

and i still am in shock that the G-Men beat my packers. I was pretty pissed. We choked that game away in the fourth quarter.

maybe if you win some more championships like the pack, you can call one of your cities in CIV "Titletown." You know, Green Bay's nickname.

I think Onagan was joking and poking fun at the fact that we call it soccer when in "soccer" you use your feet more than in American football.

New York has enough titles already in numerous sports. The Yankess alone (we are talking baseball here my non-American friends, it's in the olympics) have about 20% of all them.

I am a fan of Green Bay actually as they are truely some of the best fans in the sport. Not enough though to feel bad for Favre getting kileld by the Giants mind you.

Regarding Soccer, yes Americans call it that because we already attached the name football to a Americanized Rugby game. We understand Soccer, or should I say football everywhere besides the US, came first but tend to ignore that fact.

But seriously I think the Collesium would be great to link up with something like Mass Media. SAy 12 colesiums with mass media get's you perhaps soem gold and/or happiness per Collesium. Sort of like Dye with the theater.

yep!

It's not about scoring, but the passion the players have on the pitch. I can really enjoy a 0-0, if there's a certain numbers of moments of great play on the pitch and both teams are equal in strength.

I call American Football always "Consultation Ball". I once watched a Super Bowl (the one with the Rolling Stones during half-time).
It was to see what the Americans liked about it, and i didn't get it. after every 10-15 seconds there is a meeting about how to play the next 10 seconds.
It take ages! to complete a game.

With Rugby the game still continues, even after someone is tackled.

And why do you Americans love statistics so much?

I seem to recall that in CIV II Collosiums received an additonal +1 :) with the discovery of Electronics. I'd go for that.

Oh, and Mad Scientist, I'm a NYPD cop as well as a Giants fan; 10 hours overtime pay for the parade and a cap/t-shirt from Bradshaw. Awesome.

As an American I can't enjoy any competition that would end in 0-0 score. what's the point.

try watching a baseball game.

because statistically we are the best at everything so it just comes natural

That's why a lot of Europeans don't like Americans, they think they are the best at everything, but as far as i know, you Americans aren't the best at Football, Baseball, Ice hockey, and many other sports.

I like Basketball, it's my hobby and keeps me fit. But I love watch football in the stadium (I suck at Football).

It's about the fear you will feel, the possibility that the other will score. You know that one mistake can cost you the game. a 4-0 victory of defeat is boring, you need a equal opponent.

You most fear your "enemy".

Being English, and thus knowing nothing about American 'Football' except it looks like Rugby with not nearly as much blood, I have to ask what may seem an obvious question to some...

...why is it called the 'Superbowl' when there's no bowling involved?

Seriously, I have no idea. To me it's like calling the UEFA Cup (football/soccer) Final, 'SuperSki' or something. No skiing in it at all but hey.

What the answer, purlease!?!

As being Dutch in Sweden, I'm not that familiar with Rugby either, but…

I remembered a game (6-Nations) between France & Scotland, a few years ago.
The Scottish pushed the French during a scrum back to score a try. I loved that moment, and I can completely understand why people love Rugby.

During my first months in Sweden the Olympics took place in Torino. I loved the ice hockey final between Sweden and Finland. especially the last minutes of the game. Those games aren't good for your health.
