The white continent is Africa. Largely still untouched by industrial development, it is like a clean sheet. This is where the world's Last Billion lives, where the possibilities are endless, where the future will be written.
The black continent is Asia. That is, "in the black". Though effected by the Global Financial Crisis, its economies are strong. In its headlong rush to modernity and beyond, however, its skies are dark with soot, its canals and rivers inky with pollution. Asia has one foot in the future, but the next step is fraught with peril.
The continent with bad drivers is America. Like bad drivers everywhere, they don't perceive themselves as being bad drivers, but they are all the same. The north of the continent, in particular, is per capita more responsible for environmental destruction than any other region on the planet, yet refuses to fix the problem or even acknowledge there is a problem. It is the seat of the world's only superpower, which believes itself to be the leader of the free world, blinded to the unintended consequences of their actions.
The continent with the identity crisis is Europe. People can't even agree on where it begins or ends, or what it means to be European. For two centuries it led the world, but now that moment is gone, and it struggles to find new relevance.
The one with the penguins is Australia. Work that one out for yourself.
