Two questions about the PTW version bundled with C3C:

1. Does it feature the corruption bug from C3C? If so, can it be fixed with a PTW patch?

2. Did you guys receive a PTW scenario editor with C3C? I received vanilla Civ and C3C editors, but no PTW...

Thanks a lot.

1. No, it's clear from C3C's corruption bug.
2. No, no editor. :(

Odd and unfair...:(

Thanks for your help, looks like I'm sticking to PTW 'til the patch comes. :D

When i installed C3C over PTW, it moved the PTW shortcut to the Start\Programs\Atari\PTW and did not include a shortcut to the editor. The editor is still there however.

So... someone that installed C3C without a previous install of PTW needs to check the PTW folder to see if civ3xedit.exe is there.

I did not buy PTW and after installing Conquests there is no PTW editor.

Luckily I did buy PTW and I was able to copy the editor included with it (which was lingering on an old partition of my drive) into my C3C PTW folder. But for others like poor zorven, it's just uncalled for to leave out the editor. I mean, they gave use vanilla Civ's editor--why not PTW?

They had to leave something out so you didn't feel you paying for the same game twice. :nya:

It basically means you can't make bix files, but can you play them?

In all the official statements I saw from Atari/Firaxis/Breakaway, they only said that C3C would include the "core game" for PTW. (Understandable, since C3C really *requires* PTW to work. ;) ) But the editor can't really be considered part of the "core game" as you don't need the editor to play.

Yes, but what do they have to gain from leaving out the editor? Packaging it with C3C will not translate into any monetary loss for them, nor any hassle--the program's already been created. If you've spent the time developing the editor, why wouldn't you package it with C3C?

If anything it would please consumers more, and at no extra cost. :(

It takes up space on the CD, and considering how much stuff was already being stuck on the CD, space would be a big consideration.
