Public Investigation: People vs. Stuck_As_A_Mac

Demogame suspension is on the honor system. He could still read but would not be allowed to post in any demogame forum. If he did post and it was discovered then we would have to bad things to him.

I was gearing up for a big prosecution, but, I guess not so much. Stuck, thanks for being forthright.

This poll will last for 48 hours as mandated by our laws. At that point a sentencing poll will be posted with the options listed in this thread, as taken from our laws.

As judge advocate, I will be recommending sentencing that is more than a slap on the wrist, but is short of a ban. Playing the game save to gain knowledge not found in the save itself is strictly forbidden. I find it unimaginable that someone involved in the demo game as long as Stuck wouldn't have had even a twinge that this might be wrong. I will not be recommending a ban *only* because Stuck has been so honest about his actions.

I am also thinking of this case as precedent. Regardless of our personal feelings for Stuck, we do need to make it clear to all players, present and future, that playing the game save is a very serious breach.

I will be making a specific recommendation before the trial poll goes up.

@SAAM - Yes, you could still stay current and read the demogame forums and logs, etc. The restriction would be you could not post in any demogame thread, send demogame related emails/PMs, go to the demogame related IRQ channels, etc, for the time of the suspension.

Yes, RPG is part of the demogame so would be disallowed.

#civfanatics and the non-demogame forums are still allowed. You would need to refrain from demogame comments in #civfanatics and elsewhere.

#civfanatics does turn into a demogame/RPG chat quite often, so I'll keep an eye on that. :)

Well let's worry about the punishment after the trial. The citizens need to vote on Innocent/Guilty, and after that, the citizens also vote on the punishment.

I think the judiciary is discussing on whether or not to skip the poll process, since Stuck already pleaded guilty.

Well IMO, if the Defendent pleads Guilty. Then the Trial process should be skiped and procead to the punishment poll.

I think whatever we do as a nation in upholding the damn Constitution in this matter, we should check with Stuck first, and make sure it's OK with him to procede.

Now that the PI has been begun, it has to finish itself along the lines outlined in our constitution. The JA will post a Trial poll with Guilty/Innocent/Abstain, and if the defendant is found guilty, a sentencing poll will be held after that. There aren't any alternatives given in our current laws, nor any elastic clauses, so we'll have to follow it to the letter.

I prefer a Warning over any punishment, just next time if Stuck does it again we'd be forced to act.

Trial Results

The citizens have found Stuck_as_a_Mac guilty as charged by a vote of 23 Guilty, 1 Innocent, and 1 abstain.

We will move immediately to a sentencing phase in accordance with the Laws of Fanatika.

This will involve a poll for sentencing to be imposed.
