The Vikings, once a scourge of the North Sea but long dormant have risen again to be a menace for the nations on the North Sea but their invasion of Scotland causes much consternation in the area. Viking parties land in London and make their way inland on the Seine to Paris (due to a mysterious lack of troops) and attack both cities with raids. The Scottish are pressed to respond to the invasion of their lands and the King has begun to marshal forces. Also a call has been sent out to the English king for assistance in this time of crisis for the Isles.

On the Sub Continent, Sinhala undergoes an unprecedented military buildup. No one knows why the previously relatively peaceful Republicans would need such military expenditures. Neighboring countries begin to grow suspicious and the citizens of Sinhala, content to remain fat and rich through trade begin to grumble at the high cost of such a military.

As the remainder of the Kearasut forces are destroyed by the combined Vietnamese, Chinese and Geystral armies the Pacific Allies meet to decide what to do with this outbreak of war on the mainland. All agree that it is dangerous to see a resurgent Vietnam becoming expansionist with Geystral and the Jin in their footsteps but it is decided to enact no offensive military action against the three attackers. Instead all trade will be boycotted from those countries including any good from Kearasut.

The Cossacks give the barbarians in the interior of Europe a reprieve as the orders from the capital never reach the forward troops and thus cautious commanders stand fast.

The Canadians focus most of their effort on the elimination of the Winnebago sending the majority of their army against them. Acknowledging this the Winnebago are waiting but are unable to stop the Canadian advance as they are forced back to their capital and besieged. The Canadian fleet mounts a sneak attack on the Huron fleet and while discovered earlier than expected the Canadians inflict significant losses on the Huron. The Cree and Montagnais undertake offensives against the Canadians, mostly in the far east of the country and succeed in capturing most far east Canadian lands. The Montagnais are thrown back by a counterattack by Canadian forces fresh from the Capital. The Cree take advantage of thin Canadian forces and create a rout taking a major Canadian town and threatening the capital.

The Muslims take advantage of Christian inability to devise a united strategy and single out the Armenians. They launch a massive attack and even though it is bogged down by incredibly difficult terrain. The Armenians are beaten but not defeated as they fall back and appeal to the Cossacks for refuge and assistance. The Muslims are surprised though by the entrance of both France and Espania to the war on the Christian side. Heading the call of the Pope they sneak attack the Muslim forces in Egypt and make a landing of troops in Syria to aid the Byzantine forces. Arabic forces in Egypt are ready for such an attack and fall back in an orderly fashion thus allowing for fewer casualties and word to reach the military authorities in Mecca.

Espania - Berbers (0/3), Britian (2/3), Tripoli (2/3), Byzantium (1/3)

Huh? Twenty-five years gone, and NONE of my offensives have been launched? After writing such long orders that hardly seems fair, quite frankly... Also, I'm rather confused - who won the Battle for the Great Lakes.

Nice religion map, though.

to Espiania:
Backstabbers. We shall crush you.

to Cossacks:
Remember what Armenia have told you when you requested an alliance!

Question, Puma - how come the Winnebagos still hold out? I mean, I offered their city nice surrender terms, I outnumber them and I HAVE sent good assault plans (by my standards).

Also, what is the naval situation?

To the Cossacks
From Espania:

We applaud you in your efforts to help save the Armenians. The Arabs are warmongers and have conquered numerous nations in a matter of years. I think it is in the world's best interest to level them to a nation where they will have no power to commit such atrocities no longer. In your efforts we propose a trade route, through Byzantium if you wish. We have always grown envious of your mysterious nation to the north, we wish to learn more of your culture and trade with your people.

We hope you accept. :)

it seems this update has been rushed then maybe... same thing happen to me, part of my orders weren't followed. But I understand Puma's situation now, I just hope he would answer the pm sooner or later...

BTW: When are we going to start speeding up the years? Its going to take forever to get out of the middle ages. At this rate (which I assume is 25 years an update) it will take 20 more updates to get to the 1400's... :-/

Maybe we should increase it to 50 years a turn?

Well, I don't extremelly mind the pace - at this one we will have some time to really get into the Dark Ages and all of its specifics. Admittedly, it might get rather boring. That was the rationale behind my IT idea - people get to play in the interesting parts of the various periods and skip the less interesting ones, "fast forwarding" to the next part.
