Arabians continue their call for a Jihad against Christians and across the Empire men flock to join in battle against the heathen scum to the north. The Assyrian Empire nearly collapses under the assault as the Islamic army is able to storm the capital of Asur and burn the Emperors palace, with him in it. The pope however, was able to make it outside the city and retreat to Rome where he reestablishes the Papacy. The Assyrian Empire is now ruled in proxy by a 15 year old nephew of the now dead emperor, in hiding in Anatolia. The Armenian troops withdraw from Assyria and set up ambushes in the mountain passes of their nation in expectation.
The Byzantine Empire dumps loads of money into their army making it one of the most powerful in the area. However the money required for such a powerful military bleeds the providences dry of tax revenue.
A new kingdom rises in South Europe. The Bosnians unite the various Slavic tribes in the area and immediately accept Christianity and an alliance with the Byzantines.
Honduras experiences an economic boom. Spurred on by a lack of foreign expeditions, and owing to thriving maritime trade, the Honduran economy experiences growth it hasnt yet seen, making it the richest nation in the region, for the time being.
The Cossacks enter a period of no war for almost the first time in their history. This period is not without losses however, a party of men sent to expand Cossack borders eastward were ambushed at a river crossing by a larger Turkish force and annihilated.
The Zulu continue to build up their military in light of a cooperation of Sub Saharan African nations against them. The Zulu continue their intimidation of the Northern Alliance and they respond with a call up of troops to be used in case of a Zulu attack.
Geystral and Kearasut makes peace with the Pacific Alliance. In exchange for peace the allies gained all of Geystrals Borneo lands and the dismemberment of the opposing alliance, in addition to surrendering some islands to Timor.
Canada begins a new wonder of religion in their capital and expands into the snow filled north. Unnerving to them, however, is the massive cost of trade fleets to Honduras, that nearly drains the economy.
Spain decides to crush the Burgundian revolt and march troops into the area. After a few swift battles in which the superior Spanish army crushes the rebels they retreat to Burgundy across the Rhine river and join them there.
The Mongol army advances further against the Tibetan forces near the Yellow river but is still unable to advance into the narrow mountain passes without losing their biggest strength, mobility.
Sinhalas economic boom seems over, the high cost of overseas maritime trade proves too much for the production back at home. The Sinhala begin to build up a trade deficit, importing more than they export. This coupled with the soaring costs of protecting the maritime fleet is the first signs of an economic collapse of the South Asian giant.
The Korean army, following their defeat at the Yalu river retreats to Seoul to prepare for the next battle. After streamlining and training their army they march to meet the advancing Japanese forces outside the city. In a standoff fight the Koreans are able to fight the Japanese to a standstill and force them to retreat from the field outside the capital.
