Working on the orders. In the meantime...

Orders? It's late and I'm not *quite* sure what's happening, so just a safe:

Increase Economy
Guard all borders

while I figure it out.

Where's Blackheart?

I'm right here.
Orders:
Increase economy by sending more merchant expeditions to chin.a

By the way, am I at war with anyone?

blackheart you are not at war with anyone now, but you did just recently (a few turns ago) finish a war. you were allied to geystral against a pacific alliance, which includes nearly everyone surrounding you. you and geystral lost the war but only geystral was punished, the alliance you had with geystral though was dissolved by force, update will commence soon

I wanna take over an NPC....

NATION: Byzantium
RULER NAME: MSTK
ECONOMY: Recession
ARMY: 9,600 men, green
NAVY: 35 Triremes (iron)
UU: Crusader (250)
RELIGION: Christianity
CITIZEN MOOD: Unsatisfactory
EDUCATION: Ignorant
GOVERNMENT: Despotism
AGE: Barbarian
CULTURE: 26
WONDERS IN PROGRESS:

A charismatic leader Charlemagne comes to power in the Frankish kingdom and begins extending his influence over the Burgundians who after a short battle wed the princess to Charlemagne. Charlemagne uses the opportunity to send his forces south and seizes Lyon in a strike that throws the Spanish into total disarray.

New Sumatra collapses as it finds it’s lines of communication stretched to far to facilitate administration.

Great Honduras begins to slowly claw it’s way out of economic despair. The government now has small amounts of gold, but the average Honduran citizen starves in the streets.

The Islamic Jihad continues and only get bloodier. The Byzantine Army continues it’s Crusade in Judea and lays siege to Jerusalem and Damascus. Defenders there scream for Islamic reinforcements. The front in Anatolia is quiet as both sides fortify the mountain passes. The Armenian army takes advantage of Islamic blunders to cut off and isolate the various forts they built for themselves. They use their much superior knowledge of mountain warfare to nearly cut off over 1000 Islamic fighters. The Islamic armies fare much better in Egypt where they virtually annihilate the Egyptian army and force the remnants of the combined Egyptian/Bosnian force to fall back toward their final bastion of Barqa.
The Lombards hold back on outright rebellion at the urging of the Pope. The Lombards are content to rule their area free of Byzantine influence but won’t raise arms against Christian armies until the Islamic threat is dealt with.

The Cossacks initiate what seems to be the first extensive farming plan the world had ever seen. Despite being hampered by poor communications and poor land to the north the economy grows respectably.

The Vietnamese, still recovering from their war with the Pacific Alliance send trade expeditions to the South China coastline where they find many spices, silks and other wondrous objects. Returning these items to Vietnam invigorates the economy mightily.

Sinhala makes a monumental effort to stem piracy in the Indian ocean. The huge but antiquated Sinhalese navy succeeds but suffers moderate losses in ships. The Sinhalese Admiral doesn’t mind too much and instead petitions the Republican government for a massive modernization campaign.

Canadian merchants feel unbridled liberty under their new leader and stake out across the continent in search of new markets and opportunities. A naval expedition to Great Honduras is welcomed with open arms there by the people of Honduras who are amazed with the technological achievement and wealth of the Canadians.

Trade
Geystral - Vietnam (0/3)
Spain - Berbers (0/3)
Sinhala - Magdah (2/3), Satavahanihara (1/3), Arabia (1/3), Gupta (1/3), Burma (2/3)
Arabia - Sinhala (2/3)
Japan - Yamato (0/3)
Canada - Honduras (0/3)

Diplomacy
Lombardy:
to Byzantine Empire:
Allow us to govern ourselves and we will assure the Pope's protection in Rome during these tenuous times.

OOC
bear with me all, it's been a while and i've forgotten how to make updates faster, i'll get back the skills soon though

Good update! And don't worry about speed... After enduring stNNES3 that actually seemed unnaturally fast. (Not that I mind that...)

From Espania
To Frankish Kingdom:

You are going to so foolishly terrorize the recent friendship we have been having for an old little fued? I demand that you withdraw your forces from our lands, or else you will see before you a war which will bring devastating consequences to both sides.

--

Oh yeah, well I am taking over with the recent attacks, I am not going to watch my country become conquered.

Well, you are at war with Muslim Arabia (erez87) and due to it you are sorta the leader of Christian world, being an ally of Bosnia and Assyria (what's left of it, anyway). That said you are also facing a Lombard insurgency and I seem to recall you had some tensions with Spain (amirsan).

Say, if the Hurons are so "pacifist" then why do they have an army bigger then that of a military dictatorship in Honduras?

Revolution!

While in his royal palace, former ruler of the Byzantine Empire was assassinated by his butler. Further investigation revealed that it was an organized attempt to overthrow the royal family.
A mysterious fellow named MSTK appeared on the scene, and promised peace for all. In a swift revolution, MSTK ascended the throne and immediately invested a part of the economy into the army. A Great Wonder was started: The Knights Templar.
(I hope this is okay, because, I'm just entering the game, after all).

Orders
Increase Army by 2
Start Wonder: Knights Templar (+1 happiness, +3 army)

Message to Lombardy
We will recognize your sovereignty as an NPC nation if give tribute within your first five turns of independance.

(EDIT from later post: Divert previous Lombardy troops - all but necessary garrison - to Arab Front as described below)

---

OOC: I wonder...did I do that right? I can re-write it if you want. Or maybe I broke the rules or something...

I suspect that your crusaders won't take kindly to the sudden end of the Crusades "when we were just beginning to win". In fact...

"Christian Army, undefeated in the field of battle, has been betrayed by the cowards at home. The Greek merchants betrayed the People and the Army, and have sold out our honour! All true Byzantines, join me in My Struggle against the plutocrats and... um... heretics!"
