So I summon Basium. He dies. Huh? I look in the events...

psycho has completed Mercurian Gate!
Basium has created Basium!
You have declared war on Tebryn Arbandi!
You have declared war on Hannah the Irin!
A player has cast Divine Retribution!
Basium has been killed!

Killed by himself with his own world spell? Without even taking his city...

Someone said pure awesome?

Oh... Basium... *walks off sad and dejected*

Basium's great. I created him in one game so I could specifically kill Hyborem with him- he went above and beyond in this duty and when I ordered him to attack the city he was hiding in, it changed from the target of Hyborem to a Longbowman.

In short, Basium Blitz'd his way through Longbowman before cutting Hyborem's life short, twice. :goodjob:

Yeah, Divine Retribution should never damage Basium.

I know that you can't build the Mercurian gate if your religion is Ashen Veil, but can you switch to Ashen Veil if you are Basiums teammate? Will it end the team and cause Basium to declare war on you, or will he just ignore it?

Yes you can.

It does not break your alliance. I know of no way to break an alliance at all. Iirc it was possible though some spells in vanilla FfH, but not in BtS. I think some of the teams code may have been rewritten in the expansion. HN units used to be hostile to permanent allies about back then too.

Basium doesn't mind if you convert after summoning him. He can't do anything about it. Even if his relations to you are at -50 he'll still be friendly. He won't treat other AV civs so kindly though. I forget what happens when your mutual vassals adopt AV. I think he used to try t declare war on himself and cause a crash, but that has probably been fixed.

I once built Mercurian Gate as the Infernals.

I'm suprised the game didn't crash from the new mechanic Kael added in-
The WTH mechanic. Everytime something causes the game to go WTH, the game instantly crashes.
"The Bannor adopted AC, and summoned Hyborem? And are fighting an order
Sheam who summoned Basium?" *game crash*
