Question about combat explain

I read the article Combat Explained which explained how the combat works and give me lots of help to value the promotions. http://www.civfanatics.com/civ4/strategy/combat_explained.php

but i found a strange result in doing some tests aboout collateral damage.
a catapult vs a axeman (90hp). based on the theory, every hit the catapult take in the combat will cause 21hp damage. 21=floor(20*(3*5+4.5)/(5+3*4.5))=floor(21.081081...)=21. but the combat log showed the axeman is hit for 20 everytime.:confused:

the same thing happened when a catapult with barrage promotion causing collateral damage.
the catapult with barrageI,II should cause 12hp to the swordsman but i showed 11hp.
the catapult with barrageI,II,III should cause 14hp but 13hp showed in combat log.

however, it showed 20hp in the htm form combat caculator. as i know, the article is based on the vanilla 1.09 and the caculator is based on warlords. so has it changed in the bts 3.13 or something else caused this floating problem?:crazyeye: thank you!
 
where do you get your 5 and 4.5 from?

Every hit of the sword should make floor(20*(3*6*0.90+5)/(6*0.90+3*5)) = floor(20.78); every hit of the cat should inflict floor(20*(3*6*0.90+5)/(6*0.90+3*5)) = floor(19.25).
