Question about forums and pop ups and browser hijacking.....

I don't think that it's a popup TF! When I accessed this site about thirty minutes ago, my anti-virus program (AVG, which is currently up-to-date) went haywire complaining about how this page was spreading trojan horse programs. So, I just barely completed a complete scan and glanced around to find anything suspicious. Here's what I've found that hasn't been stated yet:

Programs installed WITHOUT permission (100% certain CivFanatic caused):
Lycos SideSearch
ClockSync
Power Scan

Files that my anti-virus software found (Might have been caused by CivFanatics):
C:\Windows\TEMP\ISTSVC.EXE (Trojan Horse Downloader.lstbar.3.AW) (Still Infected!!!!)
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\5A52GFXP\OBJECT~1.HTA (Infected Startpage) (Removed)
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\KJQF2XK3\ISTSVC~1.EXE (Trojan horse downloader.lstbar.3.AW) (Removed)
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\C1NXN5WP\OPTIMI~1.EXE (Trojan horse downloader.lstbar.3.BE) (Removed)
C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\CONTENT.IE5\SZ1VUWB9\BETTER~1.EXE (Trojan horse Revop.c) (Removed)

Hope this helps TF. If not, maybe it can help anyone else who's having problems. (Note: I was browsing two sites, one in which I was doubting it's reliability because of all it's popups. This was a suprise to me when my antivirus bluescreened me telling me that civfanatics was causing a lot of problems! When it came back, I expected to see the other site temporarily quarenteened, when to my suprise, civfanatics was the site being quarenteened. Also, I rechanged the start page before I realized what was going on, but, as someone else has already posted about this, I don't really need to. So, this note is just to inform everyone that just because I listed some of these, that it doesn't necessarily mean that you have them, too. Personally, I'd check it out, then look for these yourself, then post if you've found results similar to mine.)

I forwarded several emails I received to Telefragged, and they forwarded them to UGO. Hopefully we'll hear from UGO soon.

I told them that I want to remove the popup ad from the main site and replace the ad banner with a 768x90 banner to get higher quality ads.

That would be nice as one of the pop ups just tried to install xxxtoolbar on my computer. Luckly my firewall caught it. :)

UPDATE: When adding this to my favorites, for future reference, I found out that two folders were added to my favorites, both concerning adult websites. I immediately got rid of them (so, it's similar to the one that MarineCorps had, but a little more invasive. I never gave permission for the company that created this whateveryoucallit to add those to my favorites).
