Question regarding Fascism

1) Unit support- The AI overbuild units and improvements so they have little spare income. Fascism unit support is the best. (The AI spends 60-80% of income to tax, humans spend comparable amounts only for zero-research gambit strats, otherwise they will use 30% or less)

How's that? Fascism gives unit support of 4/7/10 and Communism gives 6/6/6. And the AI never has that many cities, much less metros. Many of their cities never grow above 6 pop, so Communism would give a better unit support.

Depends. The AI places their cities as though it expects all of them to become metros. In some cases, that's obviously foolish (city in the middle of a large tundra area), but a lot of the time, the land can support it.

I think you'll find that many AI cities do grow to metro size by the late IA (if your game lasts that long, heh). It's hard to give a rule that "Communism would always give better unit support" or "Fascism is always better for unit support" because it depends so much on each AI tribe in each specific game. Do they have 10 or 20 cities? Do they have any metros? Did they start in the middle of a desert, so their cities stayed small until rails? Did they conquer three other AI civs? It depends on so many things...
 
Certainly seen plenty of AI cities and the odd metropolis late in the game at which time fascism for them would become a decent option.
 
The higher the difficultly the more likely they'll have larger cities. They can build the improvements cheap and low food requirements = fast growth. And with the AI's tendancy to water everything, they can have some impressively sized cities. The natural limit on growth for the AI will be happiness. Since the AI uses clowns their cities may be smaller than what a human player would manage.
 
Unit support aside (which compared to cites & metros I rarely see towns) Fascism still has the unit production boost which isn't to be disregarded so lightly.
 
You mean Worker Efficiency? True, but at the point that Fascism is available, you should have most of your work done or nearing completion.
 
I meant that Fascism gets a unit production bonus akin to being mobilized for war IIRC
