Question: Why can't I see all foreign countries on advisor screen

I recently picked up Civ again after I messed up my leg playing football and having a lot of free time on my hands. I've been really getting into it, but this one thing has been really ticking me off.

I'm playing the big map version where there's 15 competing Civs. The thing is, the foreign advisor screen only has room for seven civs. So there are Civs that I know I've come in contact with that don't appear on that screen. It's really annoying because I want to meet with them but I can't do it. Is there any way around this?

Thanks,

Joey

Shift-right click a leader head and you will get a menu of available civs to replace it with. In PTW & C3C, you have a button for it.

The game was originally designed for 8 civs max/game. Redesigning the foreign advisor took a back seat to other issues.

Welcome to CFC, Joey!

Also, hitting shift-D on the main screen, or hitting the litte 'D' button on the status box, will bring up a list of all civs you have contact with. Click on any to enter diplomacy with it.

I usually use this when I want to speak with an AI, only using the Foreign Adv to check who's got MPPs with whom and the like.

Also in F2 it list who you can trade with and who you can't, if you double click their name there, you can also talk to them.
