how do you get the buildings to show in your city? I have already built buildings but I don't see them anywhere. I cant get the buildings built in world builder either as I tired building a dome over a city and made shure I had the requirements to build a dome and I still couldnt see it. the only building I was able to show was a sky hotel I think that is what its called. also the mod takes at 3-6minutes to start up and my saved game takes a while to load as well. how can I get it to load faster? is there seettings in the game that I should set?
 
3-6 minutes loading for both is what i face as well so i guess everyone has that

Showing things in the map where also units walk? (just stating obvious terms to ease comunication) should be a setting you'll have to change somewhere outside of the game (think the next person will be more precise on that)
and i know for a fact that World edit can be funny at times
 
C2C has a setting for what buildings to actually show on the map. It you try to show everything odds are good that it will eventually fall over dead. The default setting shows only wonders and defensive buildings (walls and such) as actual buildings in the city on the map. Other than that, it shows some number of generic buildings (from whichever cultural city set the city uses) based on population.

The setting which controls this is in an XML file. It is not adjustable from within the game, you have to edit the file. Specifically the file is A_New_Dawn_GlobalDefines.xml and the setting is SHOW_BUILDINGS_LEVEL. Its usage is explained in the file.

But like I said, if you turn on the regular buildings being displayed there is a very good chance that the game will fall over dead at some point and you'll just have to turn it off again to be able to continue.

Regular BtS has 159 different buildings defined. C2C v27 has something up near 2300.

Not to mention most of the buildings in C2C don't even have graphics beyond an icon/button. So even if you turned on all the buildings most of them are invisible. This was intentionally done early on to save on graphics memory. In addition it was a lot easier to make buildings without worrying about a physical building to fit it.
 
where are the settings located so that I can turn on the city buildings and how do I do it, I need specifics? I looked at the SHOW_BUILDINGS_LEVEL and all I can do Is read it. I only want certain buildings of my choice to appear, not all the buildings. also can I get a list of witch buildings are invisible and witch are not. is there a city graphic for dome, dome shielding and arcology? I had an idea for city buildings. what about certain buildings being displayed for the prehistoric age, then certain prehistoric buildings disappear or all of them when you reach the ancient age and then certain ancient city buildings disappear or all of them when you reach classical age, ect... get the idea? and would that save more memory? also I don't like the city graphics for the transhuman era and later becuase they look modern in staid of futuristic. i would like to know if buildings like arcologies and the dome can be visible? so that at least the future cities have a futuristic look to them. if they are not able to be visible then I would like to know if the city graphics for the future eras are going to be changed so that the future cities look futuristic or at least sort of futuristic. you could use the future city graphics form the future mod or that one mod(I forget the name) made by seasnake

not to be mean but Newbie Which building not Witch building (Witch is what they burned during the middle ages ;) and i couldn't come up with a better explanation) just helping out a fellow non native English writer have had also some time that i made that mistake so no worries

you were not being mean at all and I am actually a English native speaker. Thank you for correcting my spelling. so umm, do you know the answer to my question? if so please give instructions.
 
i know I've found the file before although i am not at home atm so i can't look it up and for being a native English speaker you have a horrible grammar :P

having certain buildings under certain categories so they show up on the map without making the game need a Supercomputer probably needs a rewrite of the File and idk if that is possible as i am not a modder and only have a limited know-how of XML

I looked at the SHOW_BUILDINGS_LEVEL and all I can do Is read it.
Do you know how to use right click for Properties and be able to turn off "Read Only" setting?

I only want certain buildings of my choice to appear, not all the buildings.

In the RoM/AND days there were. So the basis should be in C2C.

TH and Galactic Eras are still under construction.

alright, I know how to do it now but I changed it to normal settings so I'm not going to change anything, I like it just the way it is.
