Questions & Answers

Ok. You should shoot me. Sorry, it was meant to be a RFCE question. I should really sleep more :).

On a related note, it seems to be quite profitable to generate lots of great merchats around your empire and settle them in your capital. The net gold income almost guarantees that you have always gold to trade, have big capital AND are stable.

Hello, when you got occupation as expansion form of government(sorry i didn't know how it exactly is called in english), does the advantages of it also apply on towns you occupied before you changed to this form of government? And can you occupy the whole world without civil war?(and how can you reach this goal better?) Thanks for answers ;)

HistoryFan, you might have the latest version of BTS but an old version of RFC, or vice-versa. That is the case for most people with unexplainable general problems. You ought to have BTS 3.19 and RFC for BTS 1.186.

Alright thanks, that's probably the case. Do you know if those two are fairly new versions because when I downloaded RFC about a month ago unlocked worked correctly, so maybe a new version came out?

EDIT: Ah, I didn't have BTS 3.19

Could someone direct me to the download to unlock America so I don't have to play through as another civ? I found it the other night but got distracted by another thread and forgot where it was....
Thanks.

You know how civs change their name when they change civics, well how do I make it so that the list on the right shows the full names and not just the basic (e.g. Republic of India instead of India)?

The answer to your question was posted by Rhye in this thread a while back

In Screens\CvMainInterface.py, replace around line 2990 the occurances of getCivilizationShortDescription(0) with getCivilizationDescription(0)

is it possible to allow the player, when a new civ spawns, to be able to switch to a the new civ more than once? If so then what would i need to change to make it so?

I think, you can switch to another civ as often you want, but you have to some rounds after you've switched, before you can take another civ again. E.g. starting with the vikings, it's impossible to switch to england or germany (in the 600ad start).

Is it possible to make Rhye's and fall work on the mac?

I think so. You need the latest patch and the right rfc file for your civ version. Then just install it like Rhye told you.

Maybe a dumb question but I have looked kinda everywhere... But I read in a strategy article that you can hire mercenaries? If so how can I do that?

You hire mercenaries by clicking on that little axe in the top left hand corner.

Does anyone know how to allow the player to be a vassal? I know you edit some text in some file, but I know about as much about modding as a monkey. Simplicity would help in any explanation. :p
