Hello all,

Here are my questions:

1.) Certain buildings/improvements give +% bonuses to trade routes.
If I have a harbor on the coast, where are my trade routes?
In other words, do I have to establish these diplomatically, or
are all other coastal cities automatically connected?

2.) State religion -- Where can I see/change this?

3.) The watermill seems to be a big item. Are these best built on flood
plains I take it?

4.) Additional Question:
Religion is something that I'm still a bit confused by.
When I build a missionary and spread religion to a city,
what exactly are the benefits?

-Thanks,
Prospero

1) Trade routes happen by themselves, but only between friendly cities (ie. yours and ones of civs you've got open borders with).

2) Under the "Change Religion" screen. It's accessed via one of the little icons up right, specifically the one with two hands in a praying position.

3) There's no special benefit in building them on flood plains compared to other terrain types, AFAIK.

4) There's many benefits you can get from having a religion in one city....

- Having a religion in a city creates 1 culture per turn and +1 happiness if that religion is your state religion.
- If you own the shrine from this religion, you will 1gp per turn (it's 1gp per turn per city having that religion, so 20 city having that religion is 20 gold per turn in your coffers!)
- Under the Organized Religion civic, a town with your State Religion will make buildings 25% faster.
- Under the Theocracy civic, a town with your State Religion will grant +2 experience to new units.
- Each religion in a city lets you build a temple of that religion (+1 happiness per temple). Having more than one religion makes it easier to raise your happiness level.
- Religion spreads via trade routes. Having a religion in a city with foreign trade routes improves your chances to spread the religion to the AIs.
