It dosn't. It says "v1.00".
And it is the European version of the release - C3C: Deluxe Edition.

Is there a patch to this edition?

Download the 1.22 patch, if I'm not mistaking, its international, if I am mistaking, you can re-install the game.

I do know patching and mods gives problems when you use the (steam) download version. But you are not using that version.

I don't believe the Conquests 1.22 patch will work with Complete/deluxe. You could try it, but I think you'll end up getting the 'Please insert CD' error message.

I own the deluxe edition as well and have successfully used the 1.22 patch.

I already explained in my previous post, it is all chance based.

Its not the spearman that is invincible, its just that the tank is also not invincible, even to a spearman, even to a warrior for that matter.

It happens very rarely though.

And if it happens quite a lot to you, then there are 2 possibilities:
#1 You are extremely unlucky! Or
#2 (more likely) its because of a cognitive bias.

see the thing is....
i know what your saying but when the tables turn and its my spearman versus the AI tank....i will always lose...
its as if the AI defending units will have a better chance of kicking the Human Players butt....
this idea of the spearman cannot be cognitive bias because so many ppl surely would back me up.....especially the ppl that made the smiley.

your point of view makes sense and i understand that but its not just me that thinks spearmen are crazy!
those other ppl just are a little bit traumatised

You see, that smiley was never meant to be serious. Saying that Spearman will always win against Tank means you need to play more. Never happened to me, and I play Civ3 for 3 years. I did have some problems with a Mech Infantry though, but nothing like Spear vs. Tank.

I assure you Spearmen have absolutely nothing better than other units, and I assure you they have 2 defense points, and I assure you a Pikeman or Legionary will overall do much better than them. Keeping saying that Spears have some magical abilities, and you will only get people to give you strange looks.

I used to be addicted to playing Diablo2 online.
There was this magical item property called "magic find" the way it works is that using such magical items to kill a boss increases the chance the boss dropped a rare, or unique item, as opposed to a mundane magical item. But it only increased the chance a bit. And the chance wasn't high to start with.
Anyway. You wouldn't believe how many myths there existed (and still exist) around this magical item property.
Anything from, "magical % of stacked magic find" to clicking the "chat gem" X number of times, to, diminishing returns after X amount of boss-runs. All of these are untrue, botters, (botting is illegal on battle.net, but some people did/do it anyway) with their 6000 boss runs every night, 7 days a week, have proven this without a shadow of doubt, but even today you'll see people swearing by these things anyway. Based on non-recorded experiences of 20 to 100 boss-runs done by hand.

Hope this is the right place for this query...

I have two 'puters, in different places, and frequently copy a save game from one and put it on the other to continue with it. (I have the luxury of being able to play Civ III at work...time permitting! ) This morning when I loaded up the save I found I had lost move animations even though the appropriate boxes are activated in preferences! Anybody know a fix. My eyes are too old to take rapid unit moves!

But it is cognitive bias. It is well-known that the human mind sees patterns where there are none, and also remembers "outrageous" results better when they occur *against* him. It has been demonstrated on these forums in the past, that if you keep careful, accurate records of all your battles, you get as many "miraculous saves" as you do "outrageous defeats".

But seriously, tanks rarely lose to spearmen. It is possible when the spearman is in a metro and fortified and your tank is damaged and they have artillery defensive bomardment. But the probabilities are predictable. Glad that you have conceeded the point now. Any other questions?

I think that the limit changes depending on the difficulty level. The setting that controls max anarchy turns is in the difficulties tab rather than the general settings tab of the editor.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the size of your Civ also has a significant bearing on the Anarchy time. The larger your Civ the greater the chance of drawing a longer period.
