Can someone tell me how to post a screenshot. I tried "solid capture" and put it on "paint" but I can't seem to figure out how to paste it on my reply.

I hate to build wonders, are any wonders a big plus to win the game by conquest ? If I could, I would not build wonders throughout the whole game. is this a good idea ? btw I play with the americans

you don't need wonders, good wonders to win by conquest are probably Sun Tzu's, Lenardo's and the pyramids. This shouldn't be in strategy articles though.

Hit the "Print Screen" key or whatever Redmond calls it these days. Open Paint and paste the clipboard to a new Paint document. Adjust its scale and framing to fit an 800 pixel width. Save it as a jpeg file. Attach it to your post in 'Advanced mode'. Your done. If you want to attach multiple images then use Upload FIles at the bottom of the forum pages to upload the image files. Click "View new uploads8 directory" to get a listing of the upload directory. Right click your file link and copy it. Then use the button above your post editing screen with a little mountain on it to create an IMG tag for each one you want to embed in your post and paste in the url of the uploaded image file.

Awesome thanks! Please give me your thoughts on what to do with the Greeks.

Banks
In vanilla civ (1.29f), is the 50% income increase applied only towards the amount of income left after the deductions for science and luxuries or is it to the amount of currency the city is making before its broken into the three divisions. IE

40 gpt
50% Sci 20gpt 10% Lux 4gpt 40% Econ 16 gpt

40 gpt + bank
50% Sci 20gpt 10% Lux 4gpt 40% Econ 24 gpt

OR is it

40 gpt + bank = 60 gpt
50% Sci 30gpt 10% Lux 6gpt 40% Econ 24 gpt

Thanks in advance

Thanks....I figured that was it. Sometimes it seems like I'm not getting the whole 50% though. I'll have to pay closer attention on the before and after.

Remember, too, that it adds 50% on top of a Marketplace, but does not add 50% to the Marketplace itself. Say you have 20 gpt produced in a city. After a Marketplace, you will produce 30gpt. After a Bank, you will produce 40gpt, not 45gpt.

Has anyone (Turner?) taken a look at the SAV file I uploaded? I'd really like to know if anyone can detect a reason my unit strength cannot exceed 2698 or so while the Celts are able to produce 5000+ units. I turns out I didn't actually need as many units as I anticipated. I landed on his shores with a force of about 1000 units and except for a couple feeble cruise missile and stealth bomber attacks, the AI has not tried to stop me. I'm rolling through his cities defended by 10-12 MI, 5-6 MA and 3-4 TOW - no match for my 300+ RA and 400+ MA. I really expected to be hit by his 2000+ modern armor. War is not the AI's strong suit.

Yeah, I looked at it. I dunno what's going on. Maybe a bug in the way the units are counted.

I would do an espionage mission against them and steal their plans.

You might also want to talk to Ainwood or Dianthus, and see if they can extract the number of units.

The file contains a total of 8192 units over all civs. I think that's a hard coded limit in the game. If the Celts have 5000 then that leaves 3192 for the rest of you.

[EDIT] The actual counts are 2718 and 5474 in the save you provided

when unit has a zone of control whenever a unit passes from one square around it (say the northeast square) to another square around it (say the north square) there is a chance (not sure of the ratio) that the unit will take a hit point off it (but it can never kill it)

Civ & Civ2 were like this. Useful for keeping units out of your territory. Since Civ3 has a different way of handling it, they took it out. For the better, I think.

It should be noted that having a fortress/barricade automatically gives any unit occupying it ZOC. So make sure you don't store nukes there....

Couple questions....
Can someone tell whether I would take a rep hit if I give the city that is producing the lux I am trading to the Hits (both Ivory tiles are in this city)? It would break the GPT but they get the city with Ivory. The French have declared and this city is in the middle of the French empire. I will also be able to trade (hopefully) for two of my other excess lux's in return for their excess ivory. I have a diplo chance as #2 Civ of the 4 remaining(French have UN). The Hits are Polite and the Greeks (they are annoyed....??Emperor??). I have a MPP deal and a couple gpt trades with them.

I also control all of the uranium (just took the only other source from the French) so space victory is an option. The French are working on 7 of 10 and we don't even have Apollo). Will they stop work on space parts if they just started war and no more uranium?

Any thoughts?

There has not been a vote yet.
How bad would this impact me(AFAIK)? Sounds like 2000 gold with a MPP is the only choice to avoid a vote? I've been trading, gifting and never battled the Hits all game long!!!
