Actually, using Shift+A would introduce some other problem as follows:
#1. Those automated workers will attempt to mine all the mountains and hills and plant forests all over the tundra. Therefore, they will cause more pollution.
#2. If there is vocano damage with your border, most of the automated workers will try to go there!
Since there are no road to the top of the volcano (volcano damage would naturally destroy road too), this would cost each worker to spend three turns at the volcano (turn #1, move in; turn #2, clean; turn #3, move out). Meanwhile there are plenty of pollutions else where that they don't bother to clean up.
Since Shift+P has worked so well in Vanilla and PTW, why did they remove it in C3C?
Ouch! I didn't know that!


However, I can't seem to find that feature any where in C3C. Shift+D will clean up pollution in C3C instead...and if there is no more pollution to clean up, they will no longer be in automatic mode (basically, they won't automatically go to sleep as in PTW and Vanilla).
