Quick Question ... if a horse or other large movement unit is fortified, will it still retreat when attacked?

Yes it will, unless if it is in a city.

P.s. I had a "weak" unfortified C3C field Army of 3 War Chariots (Only 5 Total Hit Points left) that was attacked by a Swordsman......at 1 HP left, the Army retreated!!! :)

Just a thought an elite unit can after a victory get a great leader. Can an army do that as well ? Its just ive never seen one do it before. Even if it does consist of nothing but elite units.

does anyone know where i can get a 'great' 'detailed' map of spanish terratory and settlements of/during the spanish colonization of the new world?

[EDIT] - preferably during 1518 AD

You could check out the customisation section ... they have a map section and I recall somewhere in that forum is a resources section where people have posted links to maps on the internet ... :)

Something that we need to know: Do workers and slaves suppress barbarians?

No, only combat units do. (Stuff with actual attack/defense values. I'm not positive about bombardment units or ships, but my guess is no in both cases.)

Suppress? Do you mean will barbarians show up if you pop a hut with a worker? If you're expansionist or have no military units, I don't believe they can. Otherwise it's possible.

No, I'm referring to line-of-sight and the appearance of barbarian encampments. I know that camps will not appear within sight of a military unit, but am uncertain if workers will prevent the camp from appearing. I seem to recall that an outpost (with no units) does not suppress barbarians, and I think I have an example of a camp appearing within sight of a worker.

Edit: Whoops! Hiya Ren! :wavey: I overlooked your post.

I'm guessing he means barb camps. Workers definitely don't stop them appearing. I've had a barb camp appear on the tile next to a stack of workers and had a mad rush to find some fast units that could reach them to defend them.

Whoops. I was obviously only thinking of huts. I forgot about camps.

Can barbarians upgrade themselves if they live long enough?

Like if nobody cares about them and they live on till the IA or the MA.

is it possible to name the sea units?
in other words is there a way for sea units to produce hero?
because the sea units have names in real life not the modern armors.right? :)

Wlcome to CFC ... yes you can in fact rename any unit ... go to the preferences menu and choose extended buttons ... then all orders are displayed as buttons during play ... one of them is a rename option :)

Unfortunately sea and air units cannot become heros

I need help with Armies. I have yet to figure out how to build one. I've blown two leaders in the game I'm in (they're just sitting in their cities holding their flags), and countless others in previous games.

I get a leader, send him to my nearest, "safest" city. Then I click "Build Army." He pops up with a flag. I send ten or so units to that city. Then, I try to move the army - and the only one who moves is the guy with the flag. The units just sit there in the city. I finally realized, "What's the point?" I can just move them in stacks. So I've given up on Great Leaders, except to use them to boost city production.

My questions are:

1. What are the step-by-step processes for building an army, moving it, attacking, etc.? (BTW, I did check "Army Basics" on the home page, but they already assume you know how to build, and move one).

2. Once I click "Build Army" and then screw it up, are those leaders dead? Are the two in my cities holding their flags up, still usable?

Any assistance would be much appreciated as I've gone beyond the threshhold of frustration on this one.

You need to "load" the units into the army. It's the same as loading into a boat, only you can't unload them.
If you're playing C3C you'll find that armies are really, really powerful.
