i have civ3 v1.07.....how do i move all the units that r on a tile all at once?.....its really iriitating to move a large stack of units one by one.

You can use J to move all units on a tile and Control - J to move units of just that type that is active. Remember though, if they have differing movement points, they will only go the shortest distance.

That's not exactly accurate.

I've been playing with this, and I found if you pick the slowest unit, and use that as your stack to move, your higher movement units will keep their remaining movement points. If you use the faster unit to move the stack, then the faster units will sacrifice any left over movement points when the slower units run out of movement points.

Is that using "J" or "Ctl-J"? Seems like I recall last week using "J" to move a stack of what I thought were just Sipahi 2 tiles and the artillary I didn't notice underneath them got left behind a tile and were exposed. I'm using C3C.

I use 'X' and 'Ctrl-X' myself. Same thing. Anyways, every time I have a unit sneak into the stack that has less movement points, and the higher movement point unit is selected when I do the group move, the stack always stops when the lowest movement point unit runs out of movement points. And the higher movement point units have lost thier remaning movement points.

do i have to watch the moves the ai units make....most of the movement is so stupid n pointless.....a unit will come out of a city...look around then go back in.......n i have 2 watch that after every turn.....isn't there some way to switch it off.

In preferences, you can turn the animations off. :)

How exactly do naval units heal?
Fortified in a harbour does it. Fortified in a town with no harbour, too, I think.
What about fortified on coast or sea or ocean in or outside your cultural borders? Does anything of that do the trick?
Thanks in advance.

Suddenly things make sense  ...I've often wondered why sometimes my stack of Cavalry stops when I don't want it to  ...I though the computer was just determining the worst possible moment and making it happen then.

Twonkey asked "How exactly do naval units heal?"

They do not have to be fortified. Just spend a turn at rest. I think harbors act for naval units the way barracks do for land - they heal all the hit points.

Harbors don't exactly act like barracks. Ground troops can heal outside of barracks, ships can't heal outside of harbors.

Strange sort of reasoning. ;)

Right. Fortifying them outside of a town won't heal them at all, unlike ground units.

Does battlefield Medicine have any influence on this at all ?
